Paedophile who raped three children and got away with it for years.

David Lee Davies, 43, was sentenced to 10 years and 9 months in prison for raping three children, including two as young as six, after a lengthy legal battle.

Davies, who was only 15 when he began his campaign of abuse, repeatedly denied the assaults throughout his trial. He was found guilty of abusing two young boys between 1994 and 1997 and a young girl between 1997 and 1998. Despite one victim's parents reporting the abuse to police shortly after being informed by their child, Davies was not initially charged.

It was only when another victim came forward two years ago that a subsequent investigation led to Davies' arrest and charges for a string of sex offenses against children. Davies broke down in court during the sentencing hearing, admitting that he had a difficult childhood but denying the crimes.

Judge Neil Flewitt, QC, deemed Davies a dangerous offender due to his refusal to accept responsibility for his actions. He sentenced him to a total of 15 years and 9 months, including a five-year extended license period, after he serves two-thirds of his sentence.

Davies will also be required to register as a sex offender for life and abide by a sexual harm prevention order. The victims, all of whom experienced significant trauma and difficulties forming relationships, shared emotional statements detailing the lasting impact of the abuse.

While Davies' defense team argued for leniency due to his difficult childhood, the severity of his crimes and the lasting impact on his victims led to a lengthy prison sentence and ongoing monitoring.
