Man Jailed for Secretly Filming Child in Bath

David Quick, a 53-year-old resident of Walton, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for secretly filming a child while she was bathing. Quick concealed his mobile phone with the camera pointed towards the victim, but his actions were discovered when the child spotted the camera lens peeking out of a washbag.

The incident came to light in January 2019 when the victim accessed Quick's phone and found a naked image of herself. Upon confronting Quick, authorities were alerted and investigated his device, revealing 55 category B indecent images of children and at least 40 category C indecent images, including 14 images and one video of the victim.

The prosecutor, Richard Potts, stated that Quick had used apps to store the disturbing content and deleted it from his camera roll in an attempt to conceal his actions. The victim's mother described Quick's crimes as "precise, calculated, and devious," emphasizing the violation of her daughter's privacy.

Quick pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism, taking indecent images of a child, and possessing both category B and C indecent images of a child. He was sentenced on Tuesday afternoon at Chelmsford Crown Court.
