Declan Tracey Jailed for Rape and Sexual Assault of Two Girls

St Helens Man Sentenced for Rape and Sexual Assault of Two Girls

A St Helens man, Declan Tracey, 22, was sentenced to seven years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, January 27, 2025. Tracey pleaded guilty to ten sexual offences committed between 2016 and 2020, including oral rape and eight counts of attempted rape against two young girls.

The judge issued a Sexual Notification Order for life and a restraining order for 14 years. Detective Sergeant Bob Sandham commended the courage and dignity shown by the victims throughout the investigation.

"While no sentence can repair the damage inflicted, we hope this conviction brings some justice for them," said Detective Sergeant Sandham. "Violence against women and girls will not be tolerated, and we are committed to bringing perpetrators to justice."

Detective Sergeant Sandham also emphasized the force's commitment to supporting victims of sexual offences. "Anyone reporting an incident can expect to be safeguarded and supported throughout the investigation by specially trained officers and sexual violence advocates," he added.
