GWENT Police Release Custody Picture of Paedophile Caught Defying Sex Offender Register Terms

Dewi Mortimer, a convicted paedophile, has been jailed for breaking the law by failing to inform his supervising officer of numerous nights spent away from home. Mortimer stayed at the Premier Inn hotel in Caerphilly with a girlfriend on 20 occasions, violating his sex offender register terms.

The 27-year-old also breached a sex offences prevention order by deleting his internet history on his mobile phone after searching for dating sites. He admitted both charges in court.

Mortimer was sentenced to 14 months in prison at Cardiff Crown Court. He was previously jailed in 2020 for grooming a 15-year-old schoolgirl and sending her a lewd picture of himself on Snapchat.

Mortimer, formerly of Blackwood, now resides at Bradford Street, Caerphilly.
