Sex offender back in trouble after trying to cover up internet search history.

Convicted Sex Offender Caught Trying to Hide Internet Search History

Gary Crowhurst, a 40-year-old man from Hull, England, has been sentenced to an eight-month suspended prison sentence for violating a sexual harm prevention order.

Crowhurst, who has a history of possessing indecent images of children, was banned from deleting his internet history. However, he disregarded this order and attempted to conceal his online activity.

Police, who had installed monitoring software on Crowhurst's phone, discovered his attempts to hide his internet search history. He admitted to installing an app to download adult pornography, but claimed he had forgotten about the monitoring equipment.

Despite his claims, Crowhurst's past offenses, which include possession of indecent images of children and installing file-sharing software for downloading these images, were taken into account during sentencing.

The court noted that Crowhurst had been previously jailed for 20 months in 2017 for similar offenses. He was also ordered to undergo 20 days of rehabilitation.

While Crowhurst's lawyer argued that he could be managed in the community, the court emphasized the need for Crowhurst to address his issues with downloading prohibited content and seek professional help.
