56-Year-Old Man Arrested for Attempted Child Sex Offenses

A 56-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempting to meet a young girl for sex. Police were called to Pevensey Bay Road, Eastbourne, at around 9pm on Friday, October 8, following concerns from members of the public.

Officers attended and arrested Gary Frape, 56, of Honeycrag Court, Polegate. He was charged with the following offenses:

• Attempting to meet a girl under 16 years of age following grooming
• Attempting to cause/incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity
• Arranging the commission of a child sex offense

Frape appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Monday, October 11. He pleaded not guilty to attempting to cause/incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity. He entered no plea to the other charges.

Frape was remanded into custody until trial at crown court at a date to be confirmed.
