Winsford Man Jailed for Nappy Possession, Breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order
A 47-year-old man from Winsford, Gary McVeigh, has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison at Chester Crown Court for breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) by possessing nappies.
McVeigh, of Delamere Street, was previously convicted of possessing and making indecent images of children in August 2016 and received a two-year prison sentence. As part of his sentence, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order with several conditions, including a prohibition on possessing nappies.
On May 21, 2024, police officers conducted a routine check at McVeigh's residence as part of their monitoring of registered sex offenders. During the visit, officers discovered three unregistered devices concealed by McVeigh, leading to his arrest for breaching his SHPO.
Further investigation in McVeigh's bedroom revealed a significant quantity of soiled nappies, along with unused nappies. This discovery resulted in his re-arrest on suspicion of SHPO violation.
McVeigh was subsequently charged with three counts of breaching sexual harm regulations and later admitted guilt to the offenses.
