Pervert caught with vile stash of 35,000+ indecent images of children and babies.

A Stockton man has been jailed for 15 months after being found with over 35,000 indecent images of children, some of which depicted babies.

George Jeffries, 50, was arrested at his home in November 2021 after his IP address was flagged for downloading child abuse material. Police found him asleep on the sofa with his laptop open and downloading files suggesting child abuse.

The images and videos downloaded dated back to 2019 and included some that were over an hour long. Prosecutor Uzma Khan described the images as "the worse possible type in category A."

Jeffries, a first-time sex offender, also admitted possessing an extreme pornographic image depicting a sex act on a dog. He has 13 previous convictions for 36 offences dating back to 1987 but had been out of trouble with the court for 23 years.

Recorder Jamie Hill, sentencing Jeffries, said: "People who indulge in the sort of behaviour you did over the period of two years are providing a market there for those who commit child abuse physically and seek to profit from it."

Jeffries was sentenced to 15 months in prison and was also given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the Sex Offender's Register for a decade.
