George Moreby, a paedophile from north Warwickshire, was found with indecent images of children and 'extreme pornography' on several devices. He told police, "I just can't help myself."

The 26-year-old was arrested earlier in 2022, after he was previously convicted for similar offences. Moreby, of The Hills in Warton, near Tamworth, had his home raided by Warwickshire Police on April 9th, where officers seized multiple devices. These devices were found to contain indecent images of children and images of bestiality.

Moreby had previous convictions for possessing indecent images and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Following his arrest, he confessed to an officer that he was 'addicted' and 'didn't even enjoy it', stating, "I just can't help myself, I stopped for a bit but started up again. I need to get some sort of help with it, I don't even enjoy it – I'm addicted."

Moreby was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order due to his previous convictions and was charged with breaching the order, alongside offences involving indecent images of children and extreme pornography. He was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison on Tuesday, November 29th.

DC Adam James, a Warwickshire Police detective, commented: "We welcome this sentence, and we hope it serves as a warning to those considering viewing indecent images. These materials cause catastrophic harm to children. It is our aim to track down, arrest and present to the courts every single person in Warwickshire who views them."
