Man jailed for asking Facebook girl to send sexual pictures.

Man Jailed for Three Years After Trying to Get Young Girl to Send Explicit Photos

A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison and placed on the sex offenders register for life after attempting to incite a young girl to send him sexually explicit photographs.

Swansea Crown Court heard that Guy Brigdale, of Heol y Cae, Pontarddulais, contacted the girl on Facebook and attempted to persuade her to take and send indecent pictures.

However, a family member of the victim discovered some of Brigdale's messages on the girl's phone and decided to pretend to be her, continuing the conversation with the defendant.

Police were subsequently contacted and Brigdale was arrested at an address in Swansea. He pleaded guilty to attempting to incite a girl under 16 to send him photographs.

During sentencing, Judge Keith Thomas stated that a probation report indicated Brigdale had "a particular sexual interest" in such matters and intended to meet the girl. The judge emphasized that Brigdale was "grooming her" and would have committed more serious offenses if given the opportunity.

In addition to the prison sentence and placement on the sex offenders register, Brigdale was also subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This order prohibits him from having unauthorized contact with individuals under 16 and requires him to maintain his internet search histories.

It's important to note that the Pontarddulais address mentioned in the report is not where the offense took place.
