Blind Lanarkshire perv used voice activation device to help him watch child abuse vids.

Blind Man Admits to Hundreds of Child Sex Abuse Images

A blind man has admitted to possessing hundreds of child sex abuse images on his phone. Guy Kibblewhite, 58, used a voice activation device to help him decipher the vile photos and videos. He was caught when a delivery driver spotted a picture of a naked boy on his phone.

Kibblewhite, of Louisbraille Crescent, East Kilbride, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday where he admitted to possession of indecent images over a 10-year period. He has been registered blind since May 2015.

Sheriff John Speir described the situation as "incongruous," given Kibblewhite's condition. However, the defense explained that Kibblewhite can see some movement and uses a voice activation device to help him understand the images.

The court heard that the delivery driver saw the image of a naked boy on Kibblewhite's phone screen while making a delivery. The driver was concerned and contacted the police. Kibblewhite's phone was seized and found to contain 689 indecent photos of children, including 184 in the most depraved category. There were also 67 videos featuring child sex abuse, 53 of which were in the most serious category.

The prosecutor stated that some of the sexually explicit images featured babies thought to be newborn or only a few months old. The phone also had a device that allowed the user to access illicit websites on the dark web.

Kibblewhite's lawyer described him as "a genuine first offender" and he wept as Sheriff Speir informed him that a custodial sentence would ordinarily be appropriate. Sentence was deferred until next month for background reports and a risk assessment. The Sheriff requested medical evidence to confirm Kibblewhite's condition.

Kibblewhite remains on bail.
