Man Jailed for Urinating on Train, Assaulting Passengers
Harry Burgess, 25, has been sentenced to 24 weeks in prison for a series of disturbing incidents that occurred on a train journey to New Eltham on April 4th.
Burgess, travelling with friends, began acting erratically, exposing himself to passengers and urinating on a train seat. He then threw the seat cushion at a male passenger, striking him in the face.
Upon arriving at New Eltham station, Burgess sexually assaulted a woman as she boarded the train.
Detective Constable Matt Smart stated, "Burgess' loutish and crude behaviour was humiliating and intimidating for the woman he singled out. He is now serving time behind bars for his pathetic attempts to impress the friends he was travelling with. Sexual assault and violence of any kind is no joke as Burgess can now testify."
Burgess pleaded guilty to sexual assault and assault by beating at Bromley Magistrates' Court. He was also handed a five-year sexual harm prevention order and ordered to pay a £154 surcharge.
DC Smart added, "We take all reports of sexual harassment and unwanted sexual behaviour seriously and will support victims throughout our investigations."
