Harry Grubb Placed on Sex Offenders' Register After Groping Man at Lodge Grounds
A North Berwick man has been placed on the sex offenders' register after admitting to sexually assaulting a man at the town’s Lodge Grounds.
Harry Grubb, 30, seized hold of his victim’s genitals and squeezed them over the man’s clothing during the incident on August 2. He then assaulted a second man by butting him on the head to his injury at the Auld Hoose pub on the same date.
Prosecutors dropped an allegation that Grubb had also sexually assaulted the second man by placing his hand on his buttocks under his clothing at the bar. However, Grubb pleaded guilty to the first sexual assault charge and the pub assault when he appeared in Edinburgh Sheriff Court in October.
Sheriff Frances Gill deferred sentence for social work reports but last week placed Grubb on the sex offenders' register for six months and under the supervision of the social work department for the same length of time. He was also ordered to pay the sexual assault victim £790 in compensation and told to attend mental health services when requested.
