Sex Offender Jailed After Being Snared by Paedophile Hunters

Haydn Pinney, 35, has been jailed for a further three years and eight months after being caught by paedophile hunters attempting to engage in sexual communication with two decoy 13-year-old girls online.

Pinney, who is already serving a 63-month sentence for sexually assaulting a girl, was arrested in February 2019 when he went to meet one of the decoys.

The court heard that Pinney had contacted the decoys over a two-week period in late January and early February 2019, sending them sexual images and videos of himself and asking them to do the same.

He pleaded guilty to two offences of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity, and two charges of attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act.

Judge David Fletcher said: "This offending took place over a period of about two weeks. You contacted two girls who you believed were 13 years of age. You were in your early thirties."

Pinney was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) until further order and remains on the sex offenders' register for life.
