Sexually assaulting pupil while in class.
A former teacher at Flegg High Academy in Norfolk has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a pupil.
Henry Golding, 32, admitted to touching the teenager inappropriately during a class. The victim described feeling "totally disgusted" and betrayed by Golding's actions.
According to the prosecution, Golding began by "tickling the back of [the victim's] left thigh" before grabbing the victim's bottom as they walked out of the classroom.
The victim stated in court that he lost trust in people as a result of the incident, adding, "I trusted him and now feel totally disgusted."
Golding also pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, including four of the most serious category.
Judge Andrew Shaw sentenced Golding to 17 months in prison, describing the assault as "the most egregious breach of trust" against a vulnerable victim.
Golding's defense attorney argued that the assault was a "one-off" incident and that Golding would never teach or work with children again.
Flegg High Academy issued a statement condemning Golding's actions and stating that he was immediately suspended and dismissed after the allegations surfaced.
The academy also confirmed they have been supporting the victim, other affected students, and the police throughout the investigation.
