Police Hunt for Sex Offender on the Run for Two Years

South Wales Police are searching for Ian Campbell, 40, from Rhondda Cynon Taf, who has been on the run since 2017.

Campbell was originally jailed in 2016 for possessing indecent images. Upon his release from prison, he failed to comply with the terms of his licence, leading to a warrant for his arrest.

Police believe Campbell may be in the Brighton area, where he was previously spotted. Sergeant Ben Rowe stated: "He has failed to comply with strict licence conditions and is a wanted man. It is concerning that somebody with his offending history is not currently being managed in the community - somebody somewhere will know where he is."

Rowe continued, "Our investigations indicate that at some point he visited the Brighton area since he went on the run. He could be living and working under an alias, so, our appeal is to anybody in Brighton, and indeed the rest of the UK, to get in touch if they have seen him or if they know where he is."

Update: South Wales Police confirmed that Ian Campbell was arrested in Brighton on Wednesday night and is currently in police custody.
