Idrees Jaff Sentenced to Ten Years for Rape in Norwich Park

Idrees Jaff, a 39-year-old man from Berners Close in Norwich, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for the rape of a male victim. The incident occurred on the night of June 10, 2024, near Chapelfield Gardens in Norwich. Jaff, who was unknown to the victim, followed him into the park and committed the assault.

The jury at King's Lynn Crown Court found Jaff unanimously guilty of two counts of rape in December 2024. In addition to his prison sentence, Jaff will serve a further four years on extended license. He has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and faces deportation.

The victim bravely recounted the devastating impact of the attack, describing feelings of losing his mind and enduring unbearable nightmares. He highlighted the profound pain inflicted on both himself and his family. His statement powerfully conveyed the lasting trauma caused by Jaff's actions.

Detective Constable Hayley Green from Norfolk Constabulary praised the victim's courage throughout the investigation and trial. She emphasized that Jaff is a dangerous individual who preyed on a vulnerable person.
