Transgender woman guilty of double rape after preying on 'vulnerable' females.

Transgender woman found guilty of raping two women

Isla Bryson, formerly known as Adam Graham, was found guilty at Glasgow High Court today of raping two women in 2016 and 2019. Bryson, from Clydebank, committed the crimes before she transitioned to female.

A six-day trial heard that Bryson met both victims online and "preyed" on their vulnerability. She denied the charges, claiming she "would never hurt another human being," but the jury found her guilty on both counts.

Judge Lord Scott warned Bryson that a "significant sentence is inevitable," and she was remanded in custody until February 28 for sentencing.

The court heard that Bryson raped the first victim at her mother's house in Clydebank in 2016. The victim, 30, said she was raped for half an hour and threatened by Bryson with harm to her family if she told anyone.

The second victim, 34, met Bryson on the social media app Bigo and was raped at her home in Drumchapel in 2019. She told the court that Bryson continued to have sex with her after she asked him to stop.

Bryson claimed both women consented to having sex and said she knew she was transgender at the age of four but did not transition until she was 29.

The jury unanimously found Bryson guilty of raping the second victim, and a majority agreed she raped the first woman.
