Carlisle Dad Jailed for Sexual Activity with Teenager

A Carlisle father-of-three, Jack Stanley Mitchell (27), has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child.

The sentencing took place at Carlisle Crown Court today. Judge Peter Davies heard that Mitchell's offenses occurred over several months early last year. Despite eventually admitting his wrongdoing in court, Mitchell had "persistently failed" to acknowledge the offenses during police questioning.

Judge Davies stated during sentencing, "There must be custody." Mitchell, residing at Abbey Street, was ordered to register as a sex offender and will be permanently prohibited from working with children or vulnerable adults.

Furthermore, Mitchell was subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, imposing strict terms.
