Police Locate Convicted Sex Offender Who Fled Sentencing

Lancashire Police have apprehended James Atkinson, a 57-year-old convicted sex offender, after he failed to appear for sentencing at York Crown Court earlier this month.

Atkinson, of St George's Road, St Annes, near Blackpool, was found on Friday in Cumbria. He had previously been convicted of rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault.

Lancashire Police expressed their gratitude to the public for sharing their appeal to locate Atkinson.
