Man Jailed for Six Years for Child Sex Offenses

A 45-year-old man, James Green, has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to 20 offenses related to the making and distribution of indecent images of children.

Green, of Colne Road, Clacton-on-Sea, was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday, June 12th. He had previously admitted to the charges.

The Essex Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) initiated an investigation after receiving information about illegal online activity linked to Green. In April, officers searched Green's home, discovering he had attempted to access indecent images of children and violated a previous court order.

The order prohibited Green from using devices with internet access and possessing unapproved phones. Green was arrested after attempting to conceal his phone, which was subsequently found hidden under a ceiling tile. The device contained illegal content.

Despite initially declining to answer questions, Green pleaded guilty on April 30th after facing overwhelming evidence.
