Former Nursery Worker Convicted of Molesting Four-Year-Old Girl

Jamie White, a 45-year-old former nursery worker, has been convicted of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl in Gloucester. The court heard that the child's mother was shocked when her daughter told her about the abuse and horrified to learn that White had a history of similar offenses.

White had been placed on the Sex Offender Register for five years in 2003 for indecently assaulting a nine-year-old girl. He had also been accused of a similar offense in 1995 while working at a children's nursery, although no charges were filed due to the young age of the alleged victim.

Despite denying the allegations, White was found guilty by a jury. The four-year-old girl described the abuse in a video-recorded interview, and White's own testimony raised concerns about his credibility.

White claimed he had no memory of being placed on the Sex Offender Register and denied any inappropriate behavior towards the four-year-old. However, the prosecution presented evidence of his previous conviction and the suspicious circumstances surrounding the 1995 incident.

The jury deliberated for just over an hour before reaching a guilty verdict. White will be sentenced on April 5th and has been placed on the sex offenders register.
