Sex Offender Caught Sharing Child Abuse Images
Jason William Hannah, 32, of Church Street in Flint, has been sentenced to two years in prison for sharing indecent images of children. He was previously banned from using certain parts of the internet after being jailed in 2015 for possessing over 1,600 images of child abuse.
Hannah was caught sharing child abuse images and videos in a "nothing off limits" chatroom on the Kik file sharing platform. He claimed he was looking for "normal" pornography but admitted to sharing seven files over a week, all in the most serious category.
In court, Hannah admitted to going through a "bad period" in his marriage and downloading the app to seek out pornography. However, he found himself in a chat group where child abuse material was being shared.
Judge Rhys Rowlands said Hannah "hasn't learnt anything" from his previous jail sentence. He described the images as "very disturbing" and stated that there was "no realistic prospect of rehabilitation with you at present."
The judge emphasized Hannah's deliberate attempt to bypass his court order and his "obsessive and worrying need to access these images of children."
