Serial Sex Offender Wanted by Police After Assaulting Nine-Year-Old Girl

Jason Reddy, 56, is wanted by police after being convicted of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl.

Reddy was arrested in June 2018 following a report that the girl had been assaulted at an address in Hillside Road, Hastings. After seizing his electronics, officers discovered videos Reddy had made showing other girls, under 18 years old, in the shower at the same house.

He was charged with the sexual assault of a girl under 13 and two counts of voyeurism. Reddy, an engineer from Hastings, was released on bail but fled before his trial.

He was convicted in his absence on January 31 and sentenced last week to three years for the sexual assault offense and 12 months for voyeurism, to run consecutively.

Detective Sergeant Kelly Yates stated, "This case demonstrates our commitment to prosecuting sexual offenders, even if they are at large. We are actively searching for Jason Reddy and will ensure he serves his sentence upon apprehension. We commend the victim for her bravery in coming forward, which helped secure this conviction and identify further offenses committed by Reddy."
