Swindon Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Sex Chat with Underage Girl

A Swindon man has admitted attempting to engage in inappropriate conversations with a young girl online. Jesse Cookson, 28, pleaded guilty to attempting to sexually communicate with a child between July 23rd and July 27th, 2024.

Cookson was convicted at Swindon Magistrates' Court on January 8th, 2025. His offenses included sending a video of his penis and a link to pornography to the victim, who claimed to be 14 years old. He also admitted attempting to cause a child to view sexually explicit content.

Cookson, of The Crescent in Chiseldon, is scheduled to be sentenced at Swindon Magistrates' Court on January 31st, 2025. As part of his sentencing, he has been ordered to register as a sex offender with Gablecross Police Station within 72 hours.
