Pervert Jailed for Six Years for Sexually Abusing Two Girls

A man has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually abusing two young girls. John Rigby, 53, of Grasmere Grove, Rochester, was found guilty of multiple charges including indecent assault and indecency with a child.

Maidstone Crown Court heard that Rigby assaulted one of the girls and offered her "hush money" to prevent her from informing her mother. The abuse, which spanned several years, was only reported recently by the victim.

Prosecutor Simon Taylor told the jury that Rigby also molested another girl. He initially denied all charges, including six counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, 10 counts of indecent assault, and six counts of indecency with a child.

Rigby was convicted last month on all charges except one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, which was dismissed by the court.
