Wolverhampton Sex Offender Jailed for 22 Years After Raping Two Women

Jonathon Baker, 46, was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Thursday (22 February) to 22 years in prison for raping two women.

The court heard that Baker had initially built relationships with the women between 2013 and 2018, "making them feel like the most important woman in the world."

However, his behavior escalated over time, becoming increasingly violent. He eventually drugged one of the women before sexually assaulting her.

The two women bravely reported the abuse to the police, leading to Baker's arrest in October 2018. During questioning, Baker initially claimed the sexual encounters were consensual, then accused the women of fabricating their accusations. When confronted with the accusation of drugging one of the women, Baker laughed it off.

Despite his attempts to deny his crimes, the investigating officers were able to build a strong case against him. Baker was convicted of rape, sexual assault, and administering a substance to enable sexual activity.

He will serve a minimum of 11 years in prison (less the year he has already served) before he is eligible for parole. Baker was convicted in 2022 and has been in prison since.

If you have been subjected to sexual abuse or violence, you don't have to deal with it on your own.
