Jonathon Fell Arrested Again for Downloading Child Images and Flouting Sexual Harm Prevention Order

A high-risk sex offender from west Cumbria, Jonathon Fell, has been returned to prison after breaching the terms of his sexual harm prevention order.

Fell, 27, was previously sentenced to 45 months in jail in 2021 for a range of offences involving sexually abusive behavior towards babies and young children. His previous offending included online grooming and instructing a nine-year-old boy on how to abuse his three-year-old sibling.

The latest offenses were uncovered through e-safe monitoring software, which flagged Fell's activity. He admitted to downloading indecent child images categorized as B and C, possessing child abuse images, and accessing online platforms like YouTube and Instagram in violation of his sexual harm prevention order.

Fell pleaded guilty to all eight offenses committed in the Cockermouth area. Prosecutor George Shelley emphasized Fell's high-risk status and highlighted the importance of early detection through monitoring software.

Although Fell's lawyer, Duncan Campbell, argued for bail and suggested a possible non-custodial sentence at the crown court, magistrates remanded him in custody pending sentencing on January 14th, 2024.
