Jordan Emms: Former Thwaites School Headteacher Jailed for Child Sex Offences
Jordan Emms, 38, of Barrow, was sentenced to three years imprisonment at Preston Crown Court on December 16th, following a conviction for sexual assault by touching and causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The offences, which took place in Ulverston and involved one victim, are unrelated to Emms's former employment as Headteacher at Thwaites School near Millom.
A Cumberland Council spokesperson confirmed Emms was appointed following successful references and relevant checks, emphasizing the school's priority on pupil safety. Upon learning of the allegations, immediate steps were taken to suspend him from the school.
Emms was replaced as headteacher at Thwaites School in August 2023. In addition to his prison sentence, His Honour Judge Gioserano imposed a seven-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered Emms to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
