Huddersfield Man Jailed for Sexual Offences Against a Child

A Huddersfield man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple sexual offences against a child. Joshua Martin, aged 26, from Primrose Hill, Huddersfield, was convicted of four counts of sexual activity with an underage female.

The offences took place between 2024 and early 2025 during which time Martin groomed his victim before committing the sexual offences. The matter was reported to the police in early 2025, leading to an investigation by the Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Unit. Martin was arrested and charged, appearing at Leeds Crown Court on January 13th.

In addition to the sexual offences, Martin was also convicted for failing to comply with the requirements of being on the Sex Offenders Register.
