Newport Man Jailed for Child Sex Abuse Offences

Keaton Martin, 24, of Clifford Street, Newport, was sentenced at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for a number of child sex abuse offences.

Martin pleaded guilty to the following charges:

• Engaging in sexual communication with a child
• Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
• Arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence

These offences occurred between June 15 and July 9, 2020.

Martin also admitted to three counts of making indecent images of a child on July 13, 2020:

• One Category A image
• Seven Category B images
• Four Category C images

Recorder Malcolm Gibney sentenced Martin to three years in custody and placed him on the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.
