Father of five caught in explicit chat with 14 year old girl.
A 57-year-old man was sentenced to two years in prison after being caught attempting to engage in sexually explicit conversations with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. The girl was actually a decoy created by an online group dedicated to stopping online contact with children.
Kevin Denholm, from Hull, contacted the decoy girl in the early hours of the morning and quickly began making graphic and sexually suggestive comments. He offered to be her "sugar daddy" and sent her intimate pictures and videos of himself.
Denholm admitted to attempting to incite a girl to engage in sexual activity, sexual communication, and a sexual act. He expressed remorse for his actions, calling them "vile and disgusting".
During sentencing, Judge John Thackray QC acknowledged Denholm's remorse but emphasized the seriousness of the offense and the significant age gap involved. Denholm was also given a ten-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for ten years.
