Kevin Pexton, a 37-year-old man from Hull, was sentenced to 21 months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman at an all-night petrol station.

The incident occurred in September 2023 when Pexton approached the victim's car after she stopped at the service station. He touched her inappropriately before getting into the back seat and making lewd suggestions and obscene gestures.

A man who witnessed the assault intervened, pulling Pexton out of the car, leading to a scuffle during which Pexton bit the man's leg. The police arrived shortly after and arrested Pexton.

The victim described feeling terrified and vulnerable as a result of the attack, stating that she had trouble sleeping and avoided being in her car. Judge Mark Bury condemned Pexton's actions as "extremely serious" and "offensive," highlighting the significant trauma inflicted upon the victim.

In addition to his prison sentence, Pexton was ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
