Swindon Man Jailed for Sexually Assaulting Teenager

Kevin Wolton, a 42-year-old man from Swindon, has been sentenced to 29 months in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

The incident occurred on September 3rd last year at Brook Park in Redhouse. Wolton approached the victim, made lewd and inappropriate comments, grabbed her, and attempted to kiss her. A patrol officer responded to the report and arrested Wolton on suspicion of sexual assault.

Despite her ordeal, the young victim demonstrated remarkable courage by making a statement to the police and agreeing to testify in court. Her determination helped secure justice for herself and potentially protect other girls from harm.

"The victim showed great courage throughout this case and was determined that he should be punished for what he did to protect other girls in the future," said PC Dominic Tonge from the Swindon North, East and Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team. "Her calm resolution to continue to seek justice despite her young age was impressive."

Wolton's SHPO prohibited him from having unsupervised contact with girls under 18 or lone women. This conviction reinforces the importance of these orders in protecting the public from sexual harm.
