Filey Man Jailed for 18 Years for Rape, Incest, and Bestiality

A former Filey man, Kyle Stephenson (29), has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a series of heinous crimes, including rape, inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, and filming himself having sex with a dog.

The court heard that Stephenson, now of no fixed address, had pleaded guilty to the offenses against the boy and girl, and admitted to bestiality after police discovered video evidence.

Judge [Judge's name], presiding over the case at York Crown Court, also imposed a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed Stephenson on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely. He will also serve an additional year on licence.

Detective Constable Steve Monty, of Scarborough CID, who led the investigation, described the case as "one of the most harrowing and disturbing" he had encountered. He praised the courage of the young victims, stating they "have endured immense trauma caused by this vile and manipulative man."

Monty emphasized that Stephenson is now facing the consequences of his actions, saying, "He has rightfully been brought to justice and is now facing the full consequences of his depraved and disgusting actions."

The offenses were committed between January 2020 and January 2021, with Stephenson's arrest occurring in January 2021 following a complaint from the boy. The dog involved in the bestiality offense has since died from an illness.

Det Con Monty urged victims of child abuse to seek help, emphasizing that police "will support you in a highly professional and sensitive way throughout an investigation and court case."
