A bully who subjected his ex-girlfriend to a relentless campaign of abuse, pushing her to suicidal thoughts, has been sentenced to prison.

Lance Cole, 35, from Southampton, was found guilty of controlling and coercive behavior, intimidation, and harassment. Over seven months, he terrorized his victim with threats, violence, phone call bombardments, and property damage. He even spiked her drink with a sleeping pill.

The court heard how Cole's actions left the woman feeling broken and desperate. She described feeling suicidal and detailing the devastating impact Cole had on her life. She said, "He destroyed my life."

Cole was sentenced to three years and four months in prison. Judge Peter Henry described his behavior as manipulative and thoughtless.
