Paedophile had 140 indecent child images on mobile.

Paedophile Jailed for 16 Months After Hiding Child Abuse Images on Phone

Lee Courtney, 33, of North Brink, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for possessing 140 indecent images of children. Police said Courtney believed he could conceal the phone from them.

Courtney pleaded guilty to a number of offenses at Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday and was subsequently jailed. He will remain on the sex offenders register until January 2031.

Cambridgeshire Police stated that Courtney had previously received a suspended prison sentence in January 2021 and was placed on the sex offenders register after being convicted of creating indecent images of children. Authorities suspected Courtney had failed to disclose two email accounts, breaching the notification requirements of the sex offenders register.

Officers apprehended Courtney on March 18th and discovered the mobile phone containing the images.

"Despite receiving a suspended sentence and being aware of his sexual harm prevention order and notification requirements, Courtney reoffended and attempted to deceive us about the mobile phone," said PC Natasha Alwin. "It's clear he hasn't learned from his past actions."

On June 20th, Courtney was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court for breaching a sexual harm prevention order, failing to comply with sex offender register notification requirements, and creating indecent photographs of a child.

The court officials added that Courtney will remain on the sex offenders register until January 2031 and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order until January 2036.
