Prolific Sex Offender Jailed for Six Years

Liam Crosby, 31, of Harewood Rise in Keighley, has been sentenced to six years in prison for numerous sex offenses against children. The offenses included making and distributing indecent images of children and attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

Crosby was arrested on July 11, 2022, after an indecent image of a child was uploaded to a Snapchat account linked to him. West Yorkshire Police seized his phone and found further indecent images of children and numerous sexualized communications with children.

Police later received information linking Crosby to similar offenses involving a 15-year-old victim. After a second arrest and the seizure of another device, more images and sexualized communications with children were discovered.

Crosby was found guilty of the charges following a trial at Bradford Crown Court. He was sentenced on Tuesday to six years in custody with a three-year extended licence period.

Det Sgt Craig Stevens of the Bradford District Online Child Abuse Investigation Team stated, "He is a prolific offender who deserves to be behind bars for a long time. The victim has shown immense bravery throughout this process, and I hope the conclusion of this court case brings them some closure on an extremely difficult period in their young life."
