Monster Jailed for 16 Years for Child Sex Offenses

Mark Jacobson, 44, of Washington Parade, Bootle, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a string of serious child sex offenses.

Jacobson was found guilty of 16 counts, including two counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape, and multiple counts of sexual activity with a child, causing a child to watch a sexual act, and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

The sentencing took place at Liverpool Crown Court today. In addition to the prison sentence, Jacobson was given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and was issued with a restraining order and sex offender notification requirement.

Detective Constable Lucy Emmett said: "Jacobson is a dangerous individual and he will now spend a significant amount of time behind bars where he can no longer pose a risk to children."

Emmett continued: "Merseyside Police is committed to protecting children from sexual exploitation and those who seek to do them harm. I would urge anyone who has been a victim of child abuse, or thinks a child is being abused, to contact police immediately, where a report can be made in confidence. Similarly, if you have suffered a sexual offence and can find the courage to come forward, we will take your report extremely seriously and investigate it thoroughly."
