Mark Lucas Jailed for 12 Years for Child Sexual Abuse

Mark Lucas, 44, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges of sexual abuse against a young girl.

The brave victim came forward after enduring eight years of abuse, leading to Lucas's arrest by the Bedfordshire Police Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) team a few days later.

Lucas admitted to three counts of rape of a girl under 13, one count of attempted rape of a girl under 13, ten counts of sexual assault, and two counts of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The sentencing took place at Luton Crown Court. In addition to the prison sentence, Lucas was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offender register.
