Dangerous Sex Offender Jailed for Five Years

A dangerous sex offender who had indecent images of children on multiple electronic devices has been jailed for five years.

In December, officers from the East MOSOVO (Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders) Team conducted a compliance visit at the home of Martin Blake after concerns were raised about his adherence to the requirements of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Blake, 58, who had previously been convicted for child prostitution and numerous fraud offenses, was already subject to notification requirements and a court order restricting his internet access and usage.

During the visit, various electronic devices were seized, including an iPhone, USB sticks, and a PC. An extensive investigation revealed a mixture of Category A, B, and C indecent images on the PC, iPhone, and five USB sticks.

The investigation also uncovered numerous other breaches committed by Blake, including using unregistered names and bank accounts, and failing to disclose further devices identified during the investigation.

Blake, of Redwood Drive, Longridge, pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images of children, breaching his Sex Offender Notification Requirements, and violating his SHPO. At Preston Crown Court earlier this week, he was sentenced to five years in prison, a revised 10-year SHPO, and ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
