Pervert who sexually assaulted teenage girl bought her a sex toy for Christmas.

A 62-year-old man, Neville Tinker, has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Tinker was found guilty by a jury at Leeds Crown Court of four counts of sexual assault. The court heard that he had made unwelcome sexual comments towards the girl, touched and kissed her, and even bought her a sex toy for Christmas that he had gift-wrapped.

The victim, who cannot be named, was between the ages of 17 and 19 at the time of the offences. Tinker repeatedly asked her questions about her sex life, made inappropriate suggestions about sexual positions, and showed her images of sex toys.

He also took photos of the victim, made comments about her underwear, encouraged her to sit on his knee, stroked her bottom, and kissed her. On one occasion, when she mentioned she had a bad back, he told her to lay on the floor, unclipped her bra, and rubbed her back.

Despite denying any wrongdoing, Tinker was convicted after a trial lasting over a week. The victim, in a statement read out in court, said she was left "emotionally broken" and continues to struggle with "overwhelming" panic and anxiety.

Judge Ray Singh, in sentencing Tinker, stated that he was "wholly dismissive" of his actions and continued to "victim blame". He imposed a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and a restraining order to keep Tinker away from the victim for life.
