Chippenham Man Convicted of Sexual Assault
A Chippenham man, Nicholas Hodges (42), has been convicted of assault by penetration and sexual assault following an incident in 2022.
The incident occurred after Hodges and another man were invited back to a woman's home following a night out in Chippenham. The woman put her children to bed and continued drinking with the two men. Later, Hodges entered her bedroom, kissed her neck and lips while she pretended to be asleep, despite her ignoring his previous message asking for a hug.
Hodges was told to leave the room by the other man, but returned a short time later. He then began kissing her neck and digitally assaulted her. The victim, who "froze" during the attack, reported the incident to the police.
Hodges was found guilty by a jury at Salisbury Crown Court on September 14th and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 17th. Assault by penetration carries a maximum sentence of 19 years imprisonment.
