Osian Owen Rapes Young Woman Multiple Times
Osian Owen, a 28-year-old man from Min y Ddol, Maesgeirchen, Bangor, was sentenced to 4 and a half years imprisonment for five counts of rape against a girl under the age of 13. He was also convicted of causing or inciting another girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Mold Crown Court heard Owen's crimes took place over six months, targeting two young victims. The judge, His Honour Rhys Rowlands, described Owen as "depraved" and stated that his behavior was shameful and wrong.
The first victim read a powerful statement detailing the impact of Owen's actions, saying he stole her childhood but she was now leaving the "darkness" behind. She spoke of feeling disbelieved until the truth came out and expressed her determination to move forward free from his cruelty.
The second victim's statement, read by the prosecutor, revealed feelings of disgust, shame, and difficulty at school as a result of Owen's actions. However, she also emphasized her strength in speaking out and leaving the past behind.
Owen must sign the Sex Offender's Register indefinitely and is subject to a sexual harm prevention order. A ten-year restraining order prohibits him from contacting his victims.
