Music Teacher's Disturbing Crimes: Superimposed Images and Sexual Offenses

A 70-year-old music teacher, Paul Moxon, has been sentenced to three years in prison for a series of disturbing sexual offenses against his students. Moxon, who taught freelance lessons from his home in Wakefield, used the online meeting platform Zoom to commit his crimes.

During one lesson, a horrified student noticed that Moxon had taken his trousers down and was performing a sex act on himself. The student reported the incident to her parents, who contacted the police.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Moxon had a collection of over 1,000 illegal indecent images, including those classified as Category A – the most serious. Even more shockingly, authorities found recordings of Moxon's online lessons, from which he had superimposed images of his pupils into sexually explicit scenes involving himself.

Moxon had manipulated these images and added audio recordings of his students' voices to create the vile scenes. It is believed that he may have coerced his students into saying certain suggestive words to make the videos more realistic and fuel his sexual gratification.

The court heard that Moxon had masturbated in front of multiple students during his online lessons. He was not affiliated with any schools in the area.

Moxon pleaded guilty to eight counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and two counts of making indecent images. His defense attorney stated that he had accepted his guilt and the devastating impact his actions had on his victims, his family, and his career.

The judge, Recorder David Gordon, condemned Moxon's actions as a "serious abuse of trust" and highlighted his manipulation of technology for his own sexual gratification.

Moxon will be placed on the sex offenders register for life and will be subject to a lifetime sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) that restricts his online activity and prohibits contact with children.
