Peter Gibson, from Middlesbrough, was jailed in November 2013 for 13 years and six months after pleading guilty to 15 sexual offences against young girls.

The offences included four counts of rape of a young girl in the 1990s and took place in Gibson's former home in Bowburn.

At the time of Gibson's sentencing, aged 66, Durham Crown Court heard he had a record of sexual offences dating back to 1967.

In 1998, he was sentenced to six years for the rape of a child and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Jailing Gibson, of The Crescent, Middlesbrough, in 2013, Judge Christopher Prince told him: "You have a long-standing sexual predilection for young children."
