Philip Rigby, previously known as Philip Benson, has been sentenced to 13 years and 3 months in prison for sexually abusing three children between November 1982 and November 1988.

The 55-year-old from River Street, Congleton, pleaded guilty to indecent assault on a girl under 14, and five counts of buggery at Chester Crown Court on Monday 24 March. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
