Convicted paedophile jailed for downloading almost 400 indecent images of children

Robert Bilsborough, 35, of Kingsfold Drive, Penwortham, has been sentenced to 58 weeks in prison after downloading nearly 400 indecent images of children.

Bilsborough was arrested following a routine check of his electronic devices by officers. This check came after a previous conviction for making indecent images and possessing prohibited images of children.

During the forensic examination of his devices in November last year, officers discovered 13 category A images (the most serious type), 23 category B images, and 361 category C images. This totaled 397 indecent images of children found on his devices.

Bilsborough pleaded guilty to the offenses and appeared at Preston Crown Court on Friday, February 28th, where he was sentenced for three counts of making indecent images of children.

In addition to his prison sentence, Bilsborough was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
