A 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man who approached her outside a Tesco Express in Cardiff last April.

Seekio Wittridge, 25, followed the girl after she got off a bus and began making unwanted advances. He told her she was "beautiful" and repeatedly grabbed her as she tried to escape.

The victim told Wittridge she was only 15, but he claimed to be 14. When she pointed out the age gap, he said, "So that's 10 years in prison for me is it?"

Wittridge proceeded to touch the victim's chest and legs, despite her attempts to push him away. He then threatened to hold a knife to her throat and rape her when she refused his advances.

The victim's friend arrived at the scene and Wittridge apologized, claiming he "didn't want any trouble." He was arrested and later pleaded guilty to a count of sexual assault.

In a victim impact statement, the girl said the incident has left her feeling anxious and unsafe, and she no longer feels comfortable walking alone.

Wittridge was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment and given a sexual harm prevention order, sex offender notification requirements, and a restraining order, all lasting for 10 years.
