Seyi Odeyemi Jailed for Raping Woman After Meeting in Camden

Seyi Odeyemi, a 23-year-old sex offender, has been jailed for raping a woman he transported from Camden to Kent.

The incident occurred on September 3rd last year around 10pm when Odeyemi offered the victim a ride home at half the price of a taxi she was trying to book in Camden. He then took her to a hotel near Northfleet, Gravesend, instead of her intended destination.

Upon arrival, the woman appeared semi-conscious and unable to stand on her own. Odeyemi carried and dragged her to a room where he proceeded to rape her. The victim woke up the next morning confused and disoriented, not recognizing Odeyemi.

After reporting the incident to police, Odeyemi was arrested on September 7th. Investigations revealed that he violated the conditions of his existing sexual risk order by failing to notify the designated individual and lacking consent for sexual activity.

Odeyemi faced charges of rape and breaching the order. He pleaded not guilty but was convicted on both counts following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court on August 14th.

On December 4th, Odeyemi received an extended sentence of 10 years and six months imprisonment. Upon release, he will be subject to a five-year license period. Additionally, he is required to comply with a sexual harm prevention order for 20 years and will remain on the sex offenders' register indefinitely.
